The number of cultivars listed on Strainly has been growing exponentially, making the use of our search features a must to navigate this large inventory and find what you are really after. While most of our users intuitively find their way, we thought a bit of basic guidance wouldn’t heart. This article introduces and explains the different filters that can be used to better target your searches and find the hidden gem you’ve been after…
Strainly now hosts hundreds of listings covering a large variety of cultivars. As a member, you don’t always want to browse the entire inventory before randomly landing on the strain you’ve been looking for. The good news is, there are several filters than can help you become a lot more effective at finding what you are looking for.
From the listing type, to the strain category, cannabinoids concentration… we built over 20 filters that can be combined in order to narrow down your search to a few listings in some cases. Below are a few examples…
- Listing type
Once logged in, you’ll be able to browse all strains. In the upper left corner, you’ll find a filter called “All listing types”. If you click on it you’ll be able to select whether you want to look at Providing ($) listings (strains available for a donation/fee), or at Give Aways (strains available for free, from members in a giving mood), and Trading listings (from members willing to swap their cultivars, for others – no money involved). There one last interesting option: Hunting listings, from members on the hunt. So if you are a breeder or a seed collector looking to unload some of your collection, you should check out these listings and reach out to those members on the hunt!
- Map view
In the upper right corner, you’ll find 3 different views. In particular, the map view can be helpful if you are looking for strains available in a specific area. Note that you can apply filters while using this view.
From the homepage, you can click on different types of cultivars: Landrace & Heirloom, Hybrid, Indica, Sativa and even Ruderalis. These categories and filters can also be found when browsing all strains, from the filters on the left hand side.
- There are many other filters allowing you to look for seeds, clones, pollen, feminized or regular (and even male), by cannabinoids concentration and terpenes combinations…
You should now be able to perform searches in a convenient way and find the cultivars meeting your needs. It’s by trying that you’ll familiarize yourself with all those filters and search functions. After a few trials, you’ll become an expert at pheno hunting!
